K.F.P. Safety Playground Chips have been tested in accordance with BS EN 77:1998 and BS 7188 which certifies the quality of the product.

As safety is such an important factor, local authorities are increasingly using KFP`s Safety Playground Chips in communal play areas.

For suppressing weeds the particle size varies from 50mm down
to fine pieces, all different shapes and sizes, which knit together ensuring wind resistance.

To retain moisture within the soil. The high porosity of the mulch allows free movements of air down to the soil surface, the large pores  and void sizes minimises water loss due to capillary action in dry weather.

Scientists have been warning us about global warming, a hole in the ozone layer partially created by the increasing percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere.

KFP  have been working hard with a number of organisations including ADAS, ETSU and British Biogen, to improve the quality of wood fuel and become more competitive with fossil fuels.   Wood is a carbon neutral fuel which means a tree will remove as much CO2 from the atmosphere whilst growing, as it returns when it is combusted.

To ensure longevity for KFP Equestrian chip an efficient drainage system is important, as wet conditions allow the woodchips to decompose prematurely.

Woodchips can be used in three different systems all predominantly used for the reduction of odour and chemicals

Modern legislation and attitudes have changed, they ensure the “polluter” has to clean any emissions not to cause damage to the environment.

Odour from exhaust air was once acceptable, now companies have to adhere to certain emission standards.

 KFP produce a screened woodchip to customer specification for use as a filter, which removes the odour from the exhaust air before it reaches the atmosphere.   These filters are used in the food processing and water industry.
